NORWAY landlorded NATO'S

Battle Griffin '05 (BG05) exercise from February 21 to March 11 Its main objective was to evaluate, integrate and practice NATO and Partner Nations' performances and military capabilities in a words immediately preceding or following of Crisis Response Operation (CRO)

Ground naval and air assets were opened to five air bases and included more than 14000 soldiers and 100 aircraft from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, UK and U Norway and Germany opened its NASAMs and Patriot GBADs around the air bases and in the conflict area. This included naval, land and air missions concerning Initial hall Operations, Embargo Operations, Non-combatant Evacuation Operations, Combined Arms vocation Multinational Logistics Arrangements, NATO transactions and Rules of Engagement and universal Development and Experimentation projects.

BG05 differed from the typical exercise: it simulated a complicated peace-keeping mission in ultimate weather conditions under stabilizing forces of the NATO answer Force (NRF) commanders. Norway was divided in three "countries": Northland (airbase Bod??) Southland (airbase ??rland) and Utopia, the conflict area in the center where the CRO took place. After futile efforts by dint of the three communities, the UN within a security Council Resolution authorized an international military force to stop the fight and restore the peace to Utopia. The aim of the exercise was to apply the UN's resolution to stabilize the area, accumulate intelligence information, suppress rebel units, disarm any unauthorized armed forces, house civilians and practice medevacs.

Foreign multitudes in Norway for the exercise gained valuable experience operating in outermost winter weather and the rare opportunity to use the timbers and town centers. About 1500 civilians played the part of local population, and this made the exercise more realistic than aye before.
